Grounding Before Guiding-Free 5-minute RESET practice to begin your day with intention.

A Grounded Teacher Creates the Safest Space for a Child

Dear Friend,

After years of working with children in the well-being space and training educators, one truth continues to guide my work:

Our well-being is never separate from our work—it is the foundation of every space we create for children.

Children don't learn calm because we teach it.They learn calm because they experience it through us.

As teachers, parents, therapists and educators, our calm is one of the most powerful tools we bring into a child's life.

Before we teach children to...

🌱 Regulate emotions
🧠 Strengthen focus and attention
💛 Build resilience and confidence
🧘 Cultivate mindfulness
🤝 Build healthy relationships

...we first need to cultivate these qualities within ourselves.Because often, our presence teaches far more than our lesson plan.

This is why my preparation for every class—and every teacher training—begins with self-practice, reflection and grounding.

🎁 A Gift for You-If you'd like to experience this yourself, I'd love to share my FREE 5-Minute RESET Guide—a simple practice I personally use before teaching.

It will help you pause, regulate your nervous system and reconnect with yourself before supporting others.

Our Training Begins with You

In just two weeks, I'll be leading two Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Trainings—one in Singapore and one live online.

We don't begin by teaching you how to teach children. We begin by helping you become the calm, grounded adult children need.

From there, you'll learn practical, evidence-informed ways to teach yoga, mindfulness, breathwork and social-emotional learning through creative, age-appropriate methods for children aged 2–18 years.

Hi Reader, When I first started teaching Kids Yoga, I thought a good class meant children were following along, staying on their mats and doing what I had planned. Over time, I realised that some of my biggest learning came from the things I gradually stopped doing. 1. I stopped expecting stillness immediately Children may come into class excited, tired, distracted or full of energy. Instead of expecting them to suddenly sit still and focus, I learnt to meet the energy first — often through...

Hi Reader, If you love yoga and enjoy working with children, you may wonder: Do I really need a Kids Yoga Teacher Training? For me, the answer is yes — because teaching children is very different from teaching adults. It’s not just about simplifying yoga poses or making the class fun. You need to understand: How to help children focus How to connect with them so they feel ready to participate How children learn at different ages How to keep them engaged without over-instructing How to use...

Understanding Energy & the Science Behind the Play Hi Reader, Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing how I use play, movement, props and imagination to keep children engaged in yoga. But behind the fun, there’s something equally important: Learning to read the energy of the child — and the class. If you already teach Kids Yoga, or are thinking about it, teaching isn’t simply about planning fun poses, breathing exercises, games and movement. Before choosing an activity, I often ask: What...
