Why Join a Kids Yoga Teacher Training?

Hi Reader,

If you love yoga and enjoy working with children, you may wonder:

Do I really need a Kids Yoga Teacher Training?

For me, the answer is yes — because teaching children is very different from teaching adults.

It’s not just about simplifying yoga poses or making the class fun.

You need to understand:

  • How to help children focus
  • How to connect with them so they feel ready to participate
  • How children learn at different ages
  • How to keep them engaged without over-instructing
  • How to use movement, breath, mindfulness and play with purpose
  • How to read their energy and recognise when they may need movement, connection, regulation or focus
  • How to adapt your teaching when the child in front of you needs something different

A good Kids Yoga Teacher Training gives you more than activities.

It gives you the confidence to understand why you’re choosing an activity, when to use it, and how to adapt it.

And if you want to work with children and young adults with diverse needs, that understanding becomes even more important.

That’s why this September and October, I’m offering two different learning pathways:

Both trainings are designed around one principle I come back to again and again:

Don’t just learn what to teach. Learn how to meet the child where they are, adapt, and teach with intention.

Both previews are completely free and designed to help you understand the teaching approach and decide which training feels right for you.

🎉 Early Bird registration is still open for the next few days for our upcoming cohorts.

A few things to know about the training:

Yoga Alliance–accredited certification
No prior yoga teaching experience required
Access to course content for an extended period
Practical teaching tools, resources & class ideas for kids and adults
Join our growing Kids Yoga teacher community
Ongoing learning, support & opportunities to stay connected

Whether you’re ready to train now or simply curious about this work, I hope the free previews give you something useful to take away.

With gratitude,

Hi Reader, When I first started teaching Kids Yoga, I thought a good class meant children were following along, staying on their mats and doing what I had planned. Over time, I realised that some of my biggest learning came from the things I gradually stopped doing. 1. I stopped expecting stillness immediately Children may come into class excited, tired, distracted or full of energy. Instead of expecting them to suddenly sit still and focus, I learnt to meet the energy first — often through...

Understanding Energy & the Science Behind the Play Hi Reader, Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing how I use play, movement, props and imagination to keep children engaged in yoga. But behind the fun, there’s something equally important: Learning to read the energy of the child — and the class. If you already teach Kids Yoga, or are thinking about it, teaching isn’t simply about planning fun poses, breathing exercises, games and movement. Before choosing an activity, I often ask: What...

A simple yoga game that develops listening, body awareness and emotional regulation.

Hi, If you're teaching yoga and mindfulness to children (or really, teaching anything to children!), one of the biggest questions is: "How do I keep children engaged?"The answer isn't asking children to sit still or pay attention. It's making learning engaging. One of the biggest mindset shifts I share in my teacher trainings is this: I don't expect children to fit into yoga.I adapt yoga to the way children naturally learn. And one of the best ways children learn......is through play. One of...
