Hi everyone, Happy International Yoga Day ! Most World Yoga Day posts will talk about poses, practices, or the benefits of yoga. Today, I wanted to share something a little more personal — the story behind BlissYogaSG. For those who may not know, before building BlissYogaSG full-time, I spent more than 10 years in traditional and digital media across India, Singapore and APAC. My journey from corporate life to building BlissYogaSG has been featured by Read Intersections, a publication that shares first-person stories from founders and leaders. This article is not really a “quit your job and follow your passion overnight” story. What you see today as BlissYogaSG — Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Trainings, children’s well-being programs, school sessions, digital resources and our children’s wellness platform — was not built overnight. It grew slowly through years of personal practice, teaching, learning, building, preparing and questioning, all while I continued working full-time, before the leap became visible to others. For me, passion gave direction, but preparation gave stability. Over the years, what started as a personal practice slowly grew into children & family yoga sesssions, teacher trainings, school programs, digital resources, children wellness merchandise and a wider children’s well-being platform. You can read the full article here: And if this story speaks to you — especially if you are also in a quiet transition, feeling called to work with children, families, yoga, mindfulness or emotional well-being — maybe your next small step is to learn, explore and prepare. Our upcoming Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Training may be a beautiful place to begin. This training is for educators, parents, yoga teachers, therapists, wellness professionals, and anyone who wants to learn how to bring age-appropriate yoga, mindfulness and emotional well-being tools to children. Energetic Kids in Yoga Class? 3 Things That Help Hi, If you have ever taught a children’s yoga class, school session or group activity, you may have experienced this. One child is full of energy. They may keep moving, leaving the mat, interrupting, rolling around, distracting others or needing your attention again and again. And very quickly, that one child can shift the energy of the whole class. As teachers, parents or caregivers, it is easy to feel frustrated in that moment. We may think:...
Hi, Over the past few weeks, through my kids yoga sessions, school wellness sessions and teacher training work, one thing has come up again and again: Children need these days practical tools to pause, breathe, focus and regulate. But these tools need to be taught in a way that children can actually connect with. Mindfulness is something we hear about so often now — and for good reason. In today’s overstimulated world, children are constantly taking in information, sounds, screens,...
Another question I often hear from people interested in Kids Yoga Teacher Training is: “Do I need to be a yoga teacher already to join?” The simple answer is — no, it is not mandatory. Learning to teach kids yoga requires more than knowing yoga poses, advanced asanas or breathing techniques. Of course, understanding yoga is important, and we cover the foundations in the training. But teaching children’s yoga is also about understanding children — how they learn, feel, respond, express and...
