What Do You Really Walk Away With After Kids Yoga Teacher Training?

When people first look at a Kids Yoga Teacher Training, they often ask:

“What will I learn?”

Yoga poses?
Breathing activities?
Games?
Mindfulness?

Yes — all of that.

But after years of training teachers, I believe the more important question is:

What should you be able to DO by the end of the training?

My goal is that you don’t simply walk away with a certificate.

You should be able to walk into a room of children and actually know what to do.

-To observe before immediately instructing.

-To understand the energy children are bringing into the room.

-To know when they need movement before stillness.

-To create connection before expecting cooperation.

-To adapt your language and teaching for a 4-year-old, an 8-year-old, a tween or a teenager.

-To understand that behaviour may be communicating something — rather than simply trying to stop it.

-To use engaging techniques of storytelling ,yoga games, movement, breathwork and mindfulness creatively and with purpose.

-And when your beautifully planned lesson doesn’t go according to plan — because children are children 😊 — to know how to adapt while keeping the class physically and emotionally safe.

We also spend time on something teachers sometimes forget: Your wellbeing matters too.

When you are more grounded, aware and regulated, it influences how you respond to the children you teach.

So throughout the training, you’ll also experience self-care, breathing, mindfulness and regulation practices that support you — not only as a teacher, but in your own wellbeing.

Ultimately, I want trainees to leave feeling:

“I can plan this.
I can teach this.
I can engage children.
And if something changes, I know how to respond.”

That confidence is the real transformation. If this resonates with you and you’d like to explore these skills more deeply, here are our upcoming training options:

Hello BlissYogaSG Community! 💜 As part of our BlissYogaSG community, I love sharing practical tips and insights to support children's focus, confidence and holistic well-being through yoga, mindfulness and purposeful play. One thing I've learnt from nearly a decade of working with children is that before we can teach, we need to engage. Whether we're teaching yoga, mindfulness or any other activity, if children aren't engaged and attentive, meaningful learning becomes much harder. Focus isn't...

Teacher Training Certifications Are Not Created Overnight Three years in the making — and this year October, our Special Needs Kids & Young Adults Yoga Teacher Training finally came to life in Singapore. For the past 10 years, my work has centred around supporting children’s wellbeing through yoga and mindfulness — working with children across different ages, abilities and support needs, as well as the ecosystem around them: parents, educators and caregivers. Over the last three years, I’ve...
